5 Ways to Make Someone Smile

It’s 2020, we’re still finding new ways to break barriers, and oral hygiene is fair game. Recently, 4Smile was fortunate enough to test an innovative toothbrush. In fact, it’s so revolutionary that it’s not even called a toothbrush. The EZ Teethbrush created by Craig Mock had to adopt a new name because, unlike the traditional toothbrush, it doesn’t just focus on cleaning one tooth at a time. Instead, this full mouthpiece brushes all your teeth simultaneously. If you’re interested in hearing how we felt about this out-of-the-world experience, read on my friends. But First, The Story Behind the EZ Teethbrush It all started in 2006 when Craig Mock attended Western Wyoming Community College on a wrestling scholarship. During Mock’s sophomore year, his roommate was gifted a pricey sonic toothbrush, and the seed was planted. Intrigued by how electronic toothbrushes required users to spend 30 seconds on each quadrant, Mock began wondering if there was a more efficient way to brush. After years of research, transforming a double-sided mouthguard to his first prototype by gluing bristles to each side, and a few career changes, Mock was finally ready to release his cutting-edge product to the world.

Fast Forward to 4Smile Testing the EZ Teethbrush

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for—our thoughts. When we first unboxed the EZ Teethbrush, we were both overwhelmed and excited about all the different elements included in the box. The EZ Teethbrush package included:
  • A reusable ziplock sort of bag
  • The travel pack
  • 2 EZ Teethbrush mouthpieces
  • 2 EZ Sonic Toothbrush heads
  • USB Charger
  • Foaming EZ Teethpaste
  • The EZ Teethbrush handle
  • The instructions
Once we assembled the Teethbrush and quickly read through the instructions, we learned how simple the process would be.

It’s Weird

The instructions explained that Teethpaste would need to be applied to both sides of the Teethbrush. While this makes sense since you would need to clean your top and bottom teeth, it’s hard to tell how quickly the Teethpaste would run out. Our whole lives we’ve been taught to brush one tooth at a time. We’ve also gotten used to putting a regular-size brush into our mouth. Putting in a full mouthpiece was strange. And since we all have different size mouths, the piece was created on the larger size. Fortunately, the EZ Teethbrush can be cut for a better fit. Once we did that the second time around, the device felt less intrusive.

So Weird

Now for the experience itself. It also felt strange to have every tooth feel like it was being cleaned at the same time, but a good kind of strange. The closest analogy we could make was if multiple parts of your body were itchy and you were somehow able to scratch every one of them simultaneously. That’d be great, right?

So Fast

As you may know, there are two main types of electronic toothbrushes—electric and sonic toothbrushes. According to WebMD, electric toothbrushes’ brush heads vibrate at 3,000 to 7,500 strokes per minute. While this seems incredibly fast, sonic brushes vibrate between 30,000 to 40,000 strokes per minute. The EZ Teethbrush is classified as a sonic toothbrush. However, these lightening-fast brush strokes aren’t the only reason we thought the experience was fast. Because the device is brushing all four quadrants at the same time, it’s only 30 seconds! Before we knew it, we were done. And just like that all 32 of our teeth were brushed.

Minty Fresh

We were a little concerned when we saw the foam Teethpaste included in the kit. But it turns out, it makes the application process a lot simpler. We also love that we still have the option to use regular toothpaste. After the 30 seconds were up, no Teethpaste residue was caught in stubborn spaces in between our teeth. And the feeling after resembled the minty fresh breath we’ve come to expect from brushing our teeth.

Long Life

Another thing we really appreciate about this brush is the long battery life. If you’re like us, you don’t like having your charger constantly plugged in. The EZ Teethbrush battery lasts 45 days, this means you can go more than a month before you even need to charge the device.

Our Conclusion About Our Experience With the EZ Teethbrush

We admit—it was an unusual experience and it will definitely take some getting used to. However, we’re confident that the job was done effectively and efficiently. And we can’t get over the fact that it only takes 30 seconds to brush your entire mouth! In addition to our own experience, the EZ Teethbrush team has conducted several plaque tests with independent dental offices and independent hygienists who did the scoring to test the EZ Teethbrush’s clinical efficacy. The results showed the same degree of plaque removal as traditional brushing. But that’s not all. In addition to the Teethbrush included in the EZ Teethbrush kit, there’s a sonic toothbrush. With these two options available, Craig Mock asserts, “I’m 100% certain our product is the best Teethbrushing device currently available in the world.” To purchase your own EZ Teethbrush and learn more about this amazing product, visit the EZ Teethbrush site here.
